Noun Clause

Noun Clause ก็คือกลุ่มคำที่ทำหน้าที่เป็นคำนาม อาจจะใช้เป็นประธานหรือกรรมของประโยคก็ได้

Noun Clause ที่ขึ้นต้นด้วยคำสร้างคำถาม เช่น When, Where, Why, How, Who, What, Which, Whose
(สังเกตว่าจะไม่มีการสับ verb ช่วย มาไว้ข้างหน้าเหมือนประโยคคำถาม เช่น where she is. ไม่ใช่ where is she?)

• I don't know where she lives. (where she lives เป็น Noun clause ทำหน้าที่เป็นกรรมของกิริยา know)
• Please tell me what happened.
• What she said surprised me.

Noun Clause ที่ขึ้นต้นด้วย Whether หรือ if ซึ่ง ใช้เมื่อเมื่อคำตอบเป็นได้ 2 แบบ คือ ใช่ หรือ ไม่ใช่ ไม่ได้เกี่ยวกับ if clause นะครับ

• I don't know whether she will come[or not]. (ใช้ if แทน whether ได้เลย แต่จะออกเป็นภาษาพูดมากกว่า)
• หรือจะสลับที่ I don't know whether or not she will come.

Noun Clause ที่ขึ้นต้นด้วย That (เป็นแบบที่เจอบ่อยพอสมควร)

• I think that he is a good actor (เป็นกรรม)

การแปลง Quoted Speech ==> Reported Speech

• She said, "I watch TV every day." ==> She said (that) she watched TV every day
  [ ต้องเปลี่ยน I ในประโยคคำพูดให้เป็น She และเปลี่ยน Tense ให้กลายเป็นเหมือน She said (Past Simple) ด้วย
  อย่างไรก็ตาม ถ้าในประโยคเป็นเรื่องจริงทั่วไป ก็ใช้เป็น Present simple ได้ เช่น She said that the world is round ]
• She said, "Do you watch TV?" ==> She asked (me) if I watched TV.
  [เปลี่ยน said เป็น asked เนื่องจากในประโยคคำพูดเป็นการถามเรา]
